Leader In Training (LIT) Program Coordinators
The LIT Coordinators provide leadership for the Leader in Training program. The program focuses on discipleship, community building, and leadership development through service and learning. LIT Coordinators are responsible for communication with applicants and their parents // caregivers, training & overseeing the LITs in their service tasks (the set up, serving, and clean up of each meal and the cleaning of other areas of the camp), coordinating and facilitating discipleship and leadership development sessions, and overseeing their observation of cabin leading. Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years of age and have at least one season of work experience at Camp Kadesh.
Remuneration
The LIT Coordinator position is ideally a 16 week program position + paid training times. There is also a requirement for the LIT coordinators to be involved in the process of choosing the LIT participants.
Organization
LIT Coordinators work as a team and report directly to the Leadership & Discipleship Director, with additional input from other Directors.
Qualifications
Exhibit spiritual maturity and be a good Christian role model.
Enjoy and connect well with people of all ages, especially youth and children.
Have a heart for evangelism and missions.
Previous summer camp ministry and preference given to those that have served previously at Camp Kadesh
Highly organized and motivated.
Outgoing and high energy.
Ability/knowledge of camp activities (canoeing, archery, wall climbing, etc.)
Enjoy being outdoors in all types of weather.
Able to work in a team environment and independently.
Must be computer literate and should be familiar with programs such as Google Drive (docs, sheets, forms, slides, etc.) as well as various web based programs.
Familiarity with social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)
Post secondary Biblical studies is an asset.
Expectations
Adhere to the Camp Kadesh Staff Manual and the MPSM Code of Conduct.
Attend weekly support team meetings.
Be involved in staff meetings, leadership clusters, one-on-ones, and camp community groups.
Contribute in a positive manner to the greater Kadesh community.
Responsibilities
Program
Being part of the selection process of LIT participants (this is completed prior to term at Kadesh).
Updating all LIT material including the LIT Manual.
Updating the LIT acceptance package/rejection letter.
Corresponding regularly with LIT participants & parents on various platforms (email, Slack, etc.)
Coordinating and/or preparing LIT teaching sessions.
Evaluating LIT’s participation in the LIT program through staff feedback, guest feedback, and self evaluations.
Janitorial
Teaching the LIT program participants how to complete regular cleaning tasks.
Overseeing the completion of all cleaning tasks.
Tracking cleaning supplies and letting the office administrator know of needed supplies.
Operations
Coordinating LITs for registration and closing program responsibilities.
Work Crew (during Kids week)
Overseeing the Work Crew in the same areas of janitorial responsibilities.
be involved with the casual evening activities of the Work Crew.
