Maintenance Assistant

The Maintenance Assistant is responsible to complete a variety of maintenance tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Site Manager.

Organization

  • The Maintenance Assistant reports to the Site Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Have a heart for serving behind the scenes in camp ministry.

  • Willingness to be outdoors in all types of weather.

  • Able to work in a team environment and independently.

  • Saskatchewan Class 5 licence (or equivalent) is an asset.

  • Experience in the following are assets:

    • Operation of a skid steer

    • Plumbing

    • Construction

    • Electrical

    • Landscaping

    • Weed trimmer

    • Chainsaw

    • UTV

  • Strong work ethic and a hard worker.

  • Must be able to manage work projects and time management.

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Expectations

  • Adhere to the Camp Kadesh Staff Manual and the MPSM Code of Conduct.

  • Contribute in a positive manner to the Kadesh greater community.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and cleaning of shop and areas around camp.

  • Ensuring tools and equipment are in good condition.

  • Repairing maintenance issues with the Site Manager.

  • Handling emergency requests given by the Site Manager or Directors.

  • Communicating with the Site Manager troubles and repair concerns about facilities and campus.

  • Attending in house training about best practices for maintaining and cleaning facilities ( WHIMIS, OHS, Staff Meetings).

  • Complying with health and safety regulations.

  • Managing the routine upkeep of outdoor areas, building exteriors, program areas, RV areas, and parking lots.

  • Helping with construction, renovations, and repair work.

  • Enforce all rules and safety measures.
